DUBAI – Authorities in Dubai have confirmed one fatality after debris resulting from an aerial interception fell onto a vehicle in the Al Barsha area.
Officials said the incident led to the death of an Asian driver, marking the first reported death in Dubai linked to falling debris from the ongoing regional attacks.
Emergency teams responded to the scene, and authorities confirmed that investigations and necessary procedures were carried out following the incident. Officials did not report additional injuries linked to the falling debris in the area.

The confirmation came as the UAE continued to face aerial threats on Saturday, with air defence systems actively intercepting incoming missiles and drones. Authorities emphasised that the debris fell following a successful interception operation aimed at protecting the country’s airspace.
In a separate incident, debris from another interception caused minor damage to the façade of a residential tower in Dubai Marina. Officials stated that the situation was quickly contained and no injuries were reported.
Air defence operations
Earlier in the day, the UAE’s air defence systems detected 16 ballistic missiles. Fifteen of them were intercepted and destroyed, while one fell into the sea.
Defence systems also tracked 121 drones during the same period, successfully intercepting 119 of them. Two drones fell within UAE territory. The operations were part of ongoing efforts to maintain the country’s security and safeguard its airspace.
With the latest incident in Dubai, the total number of fatalities linked to the attacks has risen to four. The deaths involve nationals from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and the Asian driver confirmed in the Dubai incident.
Authorities have also reported 112 minor injuries among individuals of various nationalities, including Emirati, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian and Turkish citizens.
The Ministry of Defence reaffirmed that it remains fully prepared to respond to any threats targeting the country. Officials stated that the armed forces will firmly confront attempts to undermine national security and stability.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to protecting the UAE’s sovereignty and safeguarding the country’s interests and national capabilities while maintaining vigilance against further threats.
